State Senate
A proud resident of Littleton, Colorado, Linda Newell is running for State Senate District 26. Linda has been heavily involved in business and volunteer activities in our community. She is a business consultant with an expertise in human resources, corporate education and workforce development.
In Colorado business, Linda has worked for small and large companies in human resources, human services and telecommunications industries and as a self-employed consultant. At workforce development centers, she was a facilitator for dislocated workers who were laid off and employees new to the workforce. Throughout her career, she has balanced the needs of the unemployed seeking work, employees seeking development and corporations seeking business results.
Linda overcame financial struggles due to the Savings & Loan crisis in the late 80’s and worked her way up to senior director. With her work experience as a corporate citizen and as a self-employed consultant, Linda understands the needs of all the stakeholders in the business community.
In each city Linda has lived, she has been an active and engaged member of the community. Her non-profit work and community involvement have been versatile including supporting activities at her daughters’ schools in Littleton, volunteering for the American Red Cross, the Special Olympics, and the March of Dimes, and serving as the Former Education Foundation Chairperson for a chapter of the American Association of University Women. Linda also served on the Denver Metro Regional Workforce Development Council and participated on the Governor’s Taskforce on Workforce Development.
A single mother and sole provider for her two daughters, Linda is a strong supporter of education and bringing new jobs to our state. With the inching downturn of the economy, the rising fuel costs, and the healthcare crisis in our state, Linda is committed to the issues that affect us all.
Linda is committed to taking personal action and has a zest for life that is contagious. She grew up in Orange County, California, a daughter of a clinical psychologist and a high school teacher.
